Quorn Stir-Fry Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of Quorn pieces (chicken-style, beef-style, or your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (any color)
  • 1 carrot, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup snap peas or sugar snap peas, trimmed
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Quorn:

    • If using frozen Quorn, follow the package instructions to thaw it. If using refrigerated Quorn, it's ready to use.
    • If desired, you can marinate the Quorn in a mixture of soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger for added flavor. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), honey or brown sugar, sesame oil, and grated ginger. Set aside.
  3. Stir-Fry the Vegetables:

    • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add the minced garlic and sliced onion to the pan. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
  4. Add the Quorn:

    • Add the marinated Quorn pieces to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they start to brown slightly.
  5. Add the Vegetables:

    • Add the sliced bell pepper, carrot, broccoli florets, and snap peas to the pan. Stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Pour in the Sauce:

    • Pour the prepared sauce over the Quorn and vegetables. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes, ensuring everything is well coated and heated through.
  7. Serve:

    • Remove the pan from the heat and serve the Quorn stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles.
